The Problem
Hundreds of billions of dollars of real estate and hundreds of millions of lives are at risk from sea level rise and increasingly violent storms. The destruction of natural coastal infrastructure like has left humanity at risk.
A critical element of that problem is the degradation of coral reefs of which half have disappeared in the past 50 years. Coral reefs absorb 97% of the energy from storm surge and is one of the most effective tools to mitigate the damage that comes from it.
Without an effective strategy to rebuild coral reefs at scale, we will continue to be victims of our increasingly changing environment.

Voyacy Places is a boutique placemaking company founded by Ashlan and Philippe Cousteau. Inspired by the legacy of three generations of ocean conservationists,
explorers and storytellers, Voyacy is leading the way towards building a better future by redefining what 21st century architecture, destination tourism and storytelling can be.

Ashlan is journalist, explorer, who has hosted award-winning television shows and documentaries over a 20-year career. As an entrepreneur she is working to build scaled solutions to ocean problems.

Meet Our Team
Our team consists of globally recognized leaders assembled to create a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts. Combining these unique skillsets allows Voyacy to ideate and create places, stories, and ideas that are unprecedented and visionary. From placemaking and media production to engineering and ecosystem restoration.
Our founders Ashlan and Philippe Cousteau are Emmy nominated producers, journalists, and television hosts with decades of experience in media, placemaking, and as leaders in ocean regeneration. Other members of the team include senior executives with extensive experience in green building and design, experts in technology/ engineering and more.
Heading up our Experience Design team is Peter McGrath, who brings decades of experience in placemaking design including 25 years at Disney where he led the creative studio of Walt Disney Imagineering as Executive of Creative Development.
In addition, our senior experience team includes Bob Ward who was the creative director for Universal Studios and the visionary force behind the inception and creation of Universal Studios Hollywood, Orlando and Osaka.
Our lead Scientist Dr. David Vaughan is the world’s leading coral aquaculture scientist and have pioneered technologies for commercialization of aquaculture techniques used to grow fin fish, crustaceans, and bi-valves.
For planning and operations expertise, Voyacy Places partners with Brad Merriman and the team at ProFun, which brings a 44-year history of providing class-leading operations consulting, implementation and management services in the attractions sector having worked on over 500 projects all over the world.
